Volunteer Opportunities
The Greater Hartford Gives East Granby Community Fund Committee is seeking new voices!
Applications to volunteer as a committee member are being accepted now!
Requirements to Apply:
- East Granby Resident
- Age 14 or Older
- Agree to adhere to Foundation-wide policies and the Community Funds Handbook
Candidates for elected office, elected officials, and their immediate family members may not serve on a committee.

Grant Awards
In 2024, the Greater Hartford Gives East Granby Community Fund announced the recipients of its latest grants to 5 organizations that do work to benefit the residents of East Granby.
Through its 2034 grant cycle, the Greater Hartford East Granby Community Fund proudly supported 5 organizations making a difference in the lives of East Granby residents.
The 2024 grants recommended for funding and awarded includes:
4-H VEX Robotics – 4-H VEX Robotics Team Expansion- adding a competition super kit to be able to add members to their teams, which include East Granby residents.
East Granby Parks & Recreation – East Granby Farms playscape replacement- removing old wooden structure, expanding area, and having a new playscape installed.
Operation Fuel – Support emergency energy distribution in East Granby through funding home fuel purchases
East Granby Congregational Church, UUC – Supporting replacing the elevator in their building. The upstairs meeting room hosts many support groups for the East Granby community
Special Olympics Connecticut’s Windsor Locks local program – Support cost of athlete registration fees, purchasing new equipment to replace outdated/broken items, and subsidizing the cost of transportation to state competitions.

East Granby Public Library – To support the Doreen Jacius Story Trail project ($13,673.29)
East Granby Public Library Historical Room – To support digitizing “Let’s Talk Turkey” editions from 1996-2023 ($982)
Operation Fuel, Inc. – To support Emergency Energy Assistance for Easy Granby residents ($5,000)
Friend- to – Friend Inc. – To support East Granby Student Lunch Gift Card program ($3,900)
2022
East Granby Boy Scouts Troup 70 – to support the purchase of a storage shed
East Granby Congregational Church – to support the East Granby Community Garden’s 2022 growing season
Girl Scouts of Connecticut Salmon Brook Service Unit and East Granby Cub Scout Pack 70 – to support updating the Pinewood Derby track, timing equipment, and software
East Granby Public Library Historical Room – to support creation of a digital archive of the Historical Room resources
Hartford Interval House, Inc. – to support clients of the Victim to Survivor program
The East Granby Land Trust, Inc.- to support engineering design development for the Tom and Ginnie Howard Educational Preserve Trail
2021
East Granby Public Library – ($9,300) to support bringing STEM technology and programming to the entire East Granby community.
Town of East Granby- ($8,500) to support the Senior Community Center rug replacement project.
UR Community Cares, Inc. – ($4,000) to support UR Community Cares in East Granby.
Donate to the Greater Hartford Gives East Granby Community Fund
