Volunteer Opportunities
The Greater Hartford Gives East Hartford Community Fund Committee is seeking new voices!
Applications to volunteer as a committee member are being accepted now!
Requirements to Apply:
- East Hartford Resident
- Age 14 or Older
- Agree to adhere to Foundation-wide policies and the Community Funds Handbook
Candidates for elected office, elected officials, and their immediate family members may not serve on a committee.

Grant Awards
In 2024, the Greater Hartford Gives East Hartford Community Fund announced the recipients of its latest grants to 6 organizations that do work to benefit the residents of East Hartford.
Through its 2024 grant cycle, the Greater Hartford East Hartford Community Fund proudly supported 6 organizations making a difference in the lives of East Hartford residents.
The 2024 grants recommended for funding and awarded includes:
Gentle Love Diaper Pantry ($4,500) East Hartford Community Partner Diaper Distributions
Operation Fuel ($4,000) Emergency Energy Assistance for East Hartford
Special Olympics CT (1,500) – 88 athletes hailing from East Hartford and provides unified sports training to children and adults with disabilities.
Set The Pace, Inc. ($5,000) Open run basketball sessions with the Police Department for middle school aged boys and up.
East Hartford High Parent-Teacher Organization – ($5,000) Project Graduation is a post-commencement celebration that serves as a safe and sober alternative to more traditional graduation parties.
AKNEW ($5,000) – Partnering with the East Hartford Warming Center to help feed those who are experiencing homelessness.

Operation Fuel $5,000 Emergency Energy Assistance for East Hartford
Gentle Love Diaper Pantry $5,000 East Hartford Community Partner Diaper Distributions
East Hartford Summer Youth Festival $5,000 To recruit and engage youth and adults to join the Summer 2024 production.
Set The Pace, Inc. $5,000 Open run basketball sessions with the Police Department for middle school aged boys and up.
East Hartford Public Schools $5,000 To provide bus passes for ESL students who rely on public transportation and are low income so they can continue to attend classes.
2022
RiseUp ($2,500) – To support the East Hartfard Mural’s Creative Leadership Program.
Gentle Love Diaper Pantry ($2,500) – This project supports 75 children of all genders between the ages of 0 to 3, with an emphasis on reaching Black and Hispanic/Latino children.
Special Olympics CT ($2,500) – 98 male and female athletes hailing from East Hartford and provides unified sports training to children and adults with disabilities.
Friends of East Hartford Senior Center ($2,500) – For the Senior Technology Center where there are over 1,500 active Seniors (ages 55 and over) using the center daily that will benefit.
Operation Fuel ($5,000) – Support with energy assistance for about 222 households, 566 individuals, all from East Hartford.
Remembering Rylan ($2,500) – A mobile food bank that delivers food to support our residents (a minimum of 4-6 families monthly) that cannot get to the mainstream food locations.
